Intercontinental was founded in 1982 by Isidoro Korngold and John L. Kauth. The two had met at the First National Bank of San Antonio where they served the Bank’s Latin American clientele. Their original focus for Intercontinental was to provide international investment options and exceptional service to Latin American clients.
The firm has grown since 1982, forming a number of different companies to serve the needs of its clients. The most significant companies are Intercontinental Asset Management Group, Ltd., the broker dealer, and Intercontinental Consultants, LLC, the registered investment advisor.
In 2001, Mickey Roth, C.F.A. joined the firm as President. Prior to coming to Intercontinental Companies, Mickey was the President/CEO of the USAA Investment Management Company, responsible for over $30 billion in clients’ assets.
In 2005, Charlie Lutz joined the firm as Chief Operating Officer after a 35 year banking career, most recently as President/CEO of Bank One in Central and South Texas.
Mickey and Charlie have concentrated on serving Intercontinental’s domestic clientele.
In 2005 we opened a Miami, Florida office, to provide the same quality service and international expertise to clients in that region.
